Our Story

How It Began

✿

Some love stories begin in the most ordinary places and ours started with a dating app and a shared love of The Princess Bride. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favour and watch it before the big day, because it's woven into the fabric of how we found each other. Jess slipped her favourite line into her profile, and Grayson answered with one of his own. From that moment, she knew she wanted to meet the cute, freckled Navy sailor and find out if he was just as charming in person.
He was. Armed with hot chocolates and plant cuttings, he won her over completely, and neither of them would change a thing.
What followed has been a story of laughter, playful banter, and the kind of warm, easy love that feels like coming home. We are so excited to step into this next chapter surrounded by the people we love most, and we cannot wait to celebrate with you on the big day.

Yes, there is a free carpark just before the venue on Wairere Road. That said, we'd love for everyone to celebrate freely, so we encourage carpooling or arranging a ride if you plan to enjoy a few drinks during the reception.

We're going for Garden Party Formal — think floral prints, flowing dresses, and smart suits or blazers. We'll be spending time outdoors, so keep heels in mind when you're dancing (and perhaps bring an layer for the brisk April evening).

We’re so excited to celebrate with you! To allow everyone a relaxed evening, we’ve chosen to make our wedding an adults-only celebration. Thank you so much for your understanding — we can’t wait to share the day with you 🤍

We are yet to send out official invites, when we do it will contain an RSVP date. This helps us finalise catering numbers and seating arrangements. We will be unable to change the venue numbers for late or absent RSVPs.

Absolutely! Please let us know of any dietary requirements when you RSVP and we'll do our best to accommodate everyone.

We're having an unplugged ceremony — we ask that you put phones and cameras away so you can be fully present with us in the moment. Our photographer will capture everything beautifully, and we'll share the gallery with you afterwards. Feel free to snap away during the reception!

The ceremony begins at 3:00 pm, so we ask that guests are seated by 2:30 pm. The venue will be open from 2:00 pm to allow time to settle in and find your seat.

There are several great accommodation options in and around the Manukau and Papakura areas, close to Totara Park. We recommend booking early as the area can be busy. Feel free to reach out if you'd like some suggestions.

We love your people, but we’re keeping things intimate and aren’t able to extend plus-ones unless noted on your invitation. We hope you understand!
